Aluminium frame, corrugated board, printed lightbox film and LEDs strips 

 

​While often referring to remnants which indicate the passing of phenomena, the term ‘traces’ also refers to thin, etched lines of copper on circuit boards that function as connective wires. ( traces ) features a microscopic photograph of plant roots embedded in soil taken by the artist while on a recent residency, superimposed with electrical materials like LEDs. Drawing parallels between root networks and technological wiring, the work explores the artist’s wider interest in the intertwining of nature and technology, and how the fields are connected by material histories and conceptual systems.
