Working at the intersections of art, music, engineering and computing, the practice of Huijun Lu culminates in kinetic installations, sculptures, moving images and soundscapes. Consistent in the works are mechanisms and circuits that the artist devises and builds to examine the function and utility of objects, observations about the unnoticed in our environments, as well as technology’s role in mediating our relationship with our surroundings. Lu has held solo exhibitions, approximations (dblspce, 2023) and loop / pool (The Esplanade, 2022), and participated in numerous group shows including Portals (Battlebox Bunker, 2025), DAMN! (Kampong Java, 2025), Hope you are keeping well! (Objectifs, 2025) and When Sediment Sinks (Art Outreach, 2024). Recently, Lu was artist-in-residence at Zaratan in Portugal in February 2025 and the Singapore Art Museum from April to September 2024.
