River water, reflective film, computer fan and light bulb

Referring to a sudden flash or reflection of sunlight off a water surface, glint presents a microcosmic model of this natural phenomena. Light from a warm bulb bounces off pools of water harvested from the Tagus River estuary atop reflective film, agitated by a gentle fan simulating the wind carrying ripples across the water. Over time, the liquid beads leave salt deposits in the wake of their evaporation.

Shown as part of Bodies of Water at Zaratan – Arte Contemporânea in Lisbon, Portugal from 25 to 27 Feb 2025.
