Immersive sculpture to house a human torso

MDF board, wood, wire mesh, LED lights, sound, speakers

Inspired by principles of architectural acoustics (the study of sound production within a building) and ergonomics, Box is an immersive, self-contained acoustic structure, built within pre-existing architecture. Mounted in the corner of a box-like room, the sculpture inhabits a peripheral space, but one that can be alluring, drawing to a point where two walls meet. The stepping block, slightly taller than the technical standard, induces the viewer to bend their body forward while ascending, extending their torsos into the enclosure, where they are greeted by faint flickering lights and peculiar sounds.
